Essential Functions
Performs reference, course reserve, and circulation duties in the Mitchell College of Business Library to include working nights and weekends; responds to directional and information questions from faculty, staff, and students in person at the service desk and computer workstations, by phone, or by e-mail; provides basic reference assistance and one-on-one instruction to faculty and students using print and electronic resources; accesses VOYAGER circulation Module to check out library materials to faculty and students; adds print and electronic course reserve materials to VOYAGER catalog and DocuTek e-reserve system; maintains library collection of journals, newspapers, reference, reserve, multimedia, and book collections by re-shelving and straightening the stack areas, which may require using a stepladder; in the absence of the librarian, oversees student assistants to include assigning duties and checking work; coordinates delivery of library items between the Business and University Library; moves materials weighing up to 30 pounds; prepares reports using MS Office software; participates in departmental training and in-service meetings; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required; related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent and four years of library experience. College education from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
Working Days and Hours
Primarily Sunday - Thursday
Primarily 1:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
