Handyman Service ProfessionalPosition Summary: The Home Services (Handyman) Service Professional's job is to repair or replace termite and/or water damage on residential and commercial structures. Areas of damage to be addressed for repair include, but are not limited to: exterior, interior, crawl spaces, first and second floor areas of the structure. The Home Services Service Professional must have basic knowledge of trim, sheetrock installation, framing and structural repair as well as knowledge of the safe handling of tools and equipment used in repairs. Essential Functions:Setting and keeping appointments with Arrow's customers. Must be able to interpret warranty requirements, and advise the customer of the work to be performed.Must be able to complete the work in a timely fashion and in a manner safe to the employee and the customer and his/her propertyAbility to interact with other Arrow employees, especially administrative personnel who will supply account history and instructions, managers and supervisors. Be able to follow written and oral directions as regards the completion of the project assigned to the employee.Must be able to operate, use and understand safeguards of equipment that includes: reciprocating saws, circular saws, drills, routers, sanders, heat guns, hand tools, ladders, etc.Maintain proper records of all work performed, and safely use and properly maintain all Arrow tools, equipment and vehicles in the care of the employee.Customer relations: must be able to communicate to the customer how the repairs will be performed and what the outcome of the handyman is expected to be. Should be able to answer all questions on repairs asked by the customer. At all times, to present him/herself in a professional manner.Must know the biology of termites specific to the locale; be able to identify the various types of damage (insect, termite, water) and building practices (construction types) that may affect termite treatments. Should be prepared to offer/sell additional services for handyman services other than warranty work.Inspect all work and ensure problems are resolvedReport problems, concerns, or issues to manager immediatelyExplain the procedures of service and answer all questionsShould be registered with the State Department of Agriculture if so indicated by state regulationsAttend all service center training meetings or other specialized training and read all training material to include quarterly continuing education training for Household Pest Control (HPC) and Wood-Destroying Organisms (WDO), Public Health and/or additional training categories deemed necessary by managementWear company uniforms as required, and present a neat, professional appearance to the customerMaintain, wash and clean vehicleUse safety equipment, follow safety procedures, and wear personal protective equipment as requiredUse and return tools required for service and repair to their designated storage areaMust maintain a driving record acceptable to Company policy (no more than 2 moving violations within a 36 month period, no DUI. If driving own vehicle, must maintain proper and adequate insurance on the vehicle at all times).Perform other duties as required by management Other Functions:Interaction with customersMay assist in training of new employeesMay wear protective gearMay maintain a company vehicle Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of home construction and building techniquesUtilize good craftsmanship, stewardship and good building practicesReading, legible & accurate writing, and drawingFamiliarity with all equipment used to execute serviceBasic math skillsRequires good eye-hand co-ordination, ability to withstand noise levels, tools, and equipment. Good motor co-ordination and hand/finger dexterity.Must possess the ability and stamina to work long hours, many of which are outside (climate affected). Minimum Qualifications:Drug-freeAble to pass a pre-employment background checkAbility to pass any state regulatory agency required licensing/certification examsPossess current Driver License in the state where you work, ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a driving record consistent with company standardsIf driving personal vehicle, must possess and maintain proper and adequate insuranceHigh school degree or equivalentPresent a professional appearance including wearing an approved Arrow uniformAble to work a 40 hour (minimum) work week Physical Demands:The work environment and physical demands described below is representative of those that an employee encounters while performing essential functions of this job.
