Kelly Services is seeking a Lead Biomedical Field Service Engineer Technician to lead a team of 2-3 Technician in support of a medical device upgrade with a leading healthcare company within the hospital industry. This is an immediate need for a 6 month project or longer at various hospital sites and will involve extensive travel. Lead FSE must be located within a one hour commute of the airport in Mobile, AL.

Job Summary
  • Coordinates assignments with a Project Manager
  • Coordinates work space and device collection with customer
  • Organize and lead team of 2-3 assemblers in Market Action
  • Electronically configure and apply custom libraries to devices which complete a Market Action
  • Apply Software Upgrade to some devices
  • Oversee work done by team
  • Confirm all work is done in a GxP environment including screening device records, workbook completion and posting of completed records on a shared website


Performs electro-mechanical product, assembly and testing and repair operations on assemblies or sub-assemblies. This position may require experience using various tools, including: torque drivers, template/fixtures, hand carts, simple measuring and testing equipment, storage/packaging materials and prescribed safety equipment.

Follows guidelines to ensure product specifications and tolerance levels are met during the assembly process. Must be proficient with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat. Also must be familiar with DHCP addressing and configuration concepts including security certificates.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead field team of 2-3 employees facilitating Market Actions at the customer site
  • Perform rework on electro-mechanical devices which includes: disassembly / re-assembly, repair and testing
  • Upgrade Software
  • Electronically configure devices for a wireless network
  • Electronically transmit a custom drug library to IV infusers
  • Collect and record test data
  • Follow released / approved work instructions.


Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
  • Must be proficient with the following computer applications:
    • Excel
    • Word
    • Outlook
    • Adobe Acrobat Reader
    • DHCP Configuration
  • Self-Motivated and able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Flexibility to work overtime on as-needed basis
  • Ability to comprehend and respond to verbal and written instructions/plant documents
  • Good manual dexterity and hand eye coordination
  • Ability to maintain concentration while performing repetitive tasks


Education and Experience
  • Associates Degree in a technical field, Bachelor's degree a plus
  • 3-4 years electronic repair experience
  • 3-4 years leadership experience
  • IT background sufficient to configure wireless networks with certificates
  • Assembly experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check


Travel Requirements
  • Regional Travel required including overnights when daily travel exceeds 1 hr. Must be able to secure hotel accommodations initially and later be reimbursed.
  • Position is project based at remote regional worksites (hospitals).
  • Must have a vehicle to travel to these locations including a valid driver's license.
  • Travel is expected to be 80-100%


Vendor Credentialing
  • Must be eligible to comply with work policies as required by the local site thru their vendor credentialing site.


Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Must have high level of hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to work with electro-mechanical medical devices.
  • Must be able to lift 30-40 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Work is performed at the customer site.
