The Production Engineering role acts as a technical resource for Operations personnel, applying technical skills to optimize plant operations, resolves plant problems, and enables production of low cost, quality products.


Key Activities and responsibilities :/h5: :/h5:


: Understands all applicable process technology, equipment, unit operations, and control technology. Works with Technical Advising, Process Research, and plant personnel to optimize operations and meet Business and Plant goals for HES, production, cost, and quality.
: Participate in advanced troubleshooting, conduct appropriate root:cause analysis, and ensure corrective actions are implemented to address unplanned events as defined in department trigger criteria.
: Coordinates daily activities and production requirements, ensuring goals and commitments are met safely and within budget
: Coordinate Production with planned and unplanned maintenance activities and production turnarounds.
: Monitor daily production, shipping activities, product quality and direct adjustments to production and shipping plans as appropriate. Ensure continuous evaluation and implementation of improvements.
: Manage plant recipe system and coordinate new product development activities assigned to the Kepstan Unit process.
: Have a working knowledge of the process safety management standard, assist in resolving issues identified in internal and external audits, perform gap analysis against current performance, and lead action plan implementation.
: Lead or participate in Process Hazard Analyses, Management of Change, Pre Startup Safety Reviews, and Incident Investigations.
: Communicate technical information and issues to plant personnel and technology centers
: Develop Plant Operating procedures and work with Production Technicians to ensure changes are valid and up:to:date
: Initiate changes to Plant Operating procedures and work with Production Technicians to ensure changes are valid and up:to:date
: Understands all facets of the plant process control system and provide feedback to process automation group for improvements and optimization
: Understands and applies skills and knowledge in Statistical Process Control (SPC) technology to maximize plant asset utilization and produce low cost, quality products
: Participate in project commissioning and startup activities, including tuning of control loops
: Deliver value to the businesses through effective use of Lean Six Sigma methodologies, asset utilization, and project management work processes
: Must travel to European plant for process training at the current Toll Manufacturing site to learn process details.
: Support the following Kepstan project schedule.
Distillation commissioning and startup in Q3 2018.

:Field training of process operators during commissioning and startup.

:PEKK commissioning in late Q3 2018.

:PEKK water batching and startup in Q4 2018.

:EKKE water batching and startup in Q1 2019.

: Support Phase2/3 expansion scheduled for 2020 startup.

Context and environment







: 15 to 20 percent travel including some foreign travel.
: Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
: Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.)
: Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near:miss, accident or injury incidents
: High profile / key position within the plant which works closely with every department.
